Ryan J. Faer
Life with depression and anxiety ultimately led Ryan to pick up a camera. And through the lens, he strives to let others see the world in a similar light as to how he has seen it on his own journey: dissonant strokes of solitude embedded in a deep contrast of black and white, with splashes of love, connectedness and humanity, represented by a thoughtful, delicate approach to both the darkness and light found in our world. It is through the use monochromatic street photography that Ryan ultimately works to document how life appears from where he sees it: at the intersection of beauty and struggle.
Ryan lives in Phoenix, Arizona, where he predominantly shoots digitally on Leica Monochrom cameras. Ryan holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Florida and Lasell University, respectively, studying Kinesiology and Sports Science Analytics. When he is not with his camera, Ryan serves as a Senior Sport Science Analyst with the Cleveland Guardians in Major League Baseball.
